Super Rare/Expensive Books

Postby Lost_Heretic » Sat Feb 06, 2010 12:41 pm

Right now I'm working on collecting the Dark Ages line, including the old Vampire: the Dark Ages books. I've noticed that there are a lot of expensive hardcovers going for almost twice the price on ebay and half.com.

The point of this thread is to point out which books are rare or expensive and even include websites where they can be purchased for less.

Dark Ages
Player's Guide to the High Clans $70+
Players Guide to the Low Clans $45+ ($27 at Paizo.com)
Dark Ages: Fae $90+
Erciyes Fragments $25+

Vampire: the Masquerade
Victorian Age: Vampire Companion $40+
Kindred of the Ebony Kingdom $50+
Revelations of the Dark Mother $30+

Does anyone know some other books for the list?

Well for Wraith the Oblivion

Dark Reflections Specters £39.95
Ends of Empire $75 :o

and for Changeling the Dreaming

Kith Book Redcaps $35
Kith Book Eshu £55

$ prices are from Noblenight.com
£ prices are from Amazon.co.uk

Nice to see I'm not the only one who prefers to have the actual book rather than a PDF.

Other than that it's expensive...

Ends of Empire $75 :o

$75 on half.com as well! I just saw one for fifteen bucks on ebay, though.

Kith Book Redcaps $35

$20 on half.com

Kith Book Eshu £55

There's a good condition copy going for $35 on half.com.

$ prices are from Noblenight.com

I usually don't like noble knight...but they have cheap copies of Dark Ages books! :) Thanks Verghast!

Are The Shadow Court and KB: Pooka still in the realms of the ridiculous? I stopped looking after I got my copies.

I haven't seen it available in awhile, but Pooka was anywhere from $80-$100 last I saw it. It's the only Kithbook I need...

Shadow Court I just saw listed for $80 on eBay.

The most surprising book I've come across isn't a WoD book. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is barely a year old and I can't find it for less than $80.

Yeah, my brother (who plays the d20 SW game) tells me that they had Changeling-esque print runs on a *LOT* of their books.

Yeah....Just bought my housey a copy of the KOTOR era book for Star Wars Saga for his Birthday. Cost me $100 of the local peso. luckily his Wednesday group each chipped in a twenty.

as for rare and awesome I was on the lookout for a copy of the Encyclopedia Vamprica for V:tM, when I was considering running it. Lost interest after I couldn't find myself a copy and then about a year ago a mate snagged a copy for $130. Very Beautiful book.

What do you guys think of the superduper awesome editions that companies are putting out now? A mate of mine got the uber limited edition of rogue trader and its so lovely and ornate as to be unusable in a standard tabletop setting. It very very pretty but completely unpractical.

I remember very much back in the day WW published some weird hard cover graphic novel that had graphic sex and was set in the V:tM world. cool art by John Bolton. Can't remember what it was called. anyone seen that?

Seen it? I've read it. Not terribly good, even for what's basically smut.
