Excellent podcast.

I am almost near to completion on my Vampire setting (as in all the critical NPCs are written and have stats) and so the chapters of the Manchester book will be almost ready and then I start on preparing the stories and NPCs for CtL:Venice. Is there anything on chronicle design you would like as a darkling?

What about covering how to get the most out of adapting a real-world setting for the game - you've done a fair bit of that? At the end of the day, though, the key thing to me seems to be to just cover an issue or game element that you like. The Darklings have all pretty much been on subjects that the hosts were enthusiastic about - that ensures a level of interest that translates well from host to listener, imho.

Hey guys, I just finished listening to the Changeling Podcast episode, and you know I love the show, but I am sorry to say I was very disappointed. While learning about Changeling the Dreaming was very interesting, the discussion of the concepts and the story of Changeling the Lost was almost hardly discussed. There are tons of core concepts of Changeling the Lost that are vastly different from its older incarnations. You talked about how Changeling has the stigma of being the "shiny happy" WOD game, this is probably one of the darkest lines in the entire line. The story of being taken from your home, being tortured or warped from your original form, losing your sanity in arcadia, and finally desperately escaping your True Fae captor only to find out when you return you have been replaced with a fetch that could have taken your previous life into any direction it wanted to is incredibly compelling storytelling. Even better, when you do return a great deal of time could have passed and the world you escaped from in arcadia seems more real or familiar than your old reality you were taken from. Does your True Fae captor know you escaped, or did he purposely let you leave as part of a far more sinister plot? Where was the discussion of the Court systems of Changelings and their specific ideologies on arcadia and how are they surviving in the real world. I have been playing a Changeling game with fellow Darker Days member Ben Barth and I feel that these concepts must be addressed to get people interested and more importantly understanding Changeling. What I have talked about is barely scratching the surface. This post is not meant to show any disrespect to your guests, and again i welcome their knowledge on the Old World of Darkness Changeling game, but the discussion must address the current incarnation of the game. Darker Days is still one of my favorite podcasts, but I think at a later date the topic of Changeling must be fully addressed, and please feel free to consult either Ben Barth or myself if you have any questions. Thanks again for making the show, as a previous podcaster I understand the effort that goes into making one, and I look forward to the next show.
Sincerely,

Good to see you Matt and thank you for the feedback. Just want to point out that the door is not closed on Changeling at all as I said we will reopen the door and look at it again with some of the writers, and when that happens I will email you and Ben to get some good topic points for the show to make sure everything is covered.

Thanks for the feedback Matt - always appreciated. Just want to second what Vince says - we are far from done with Changeling (in any incarnation, OWoD or NWoD) and I'm sure you'll see more on it in the future. I understand your frustration, of course. When prepping the show, we looked at a large number of potential topics, and narrowed that down to a half-dozen, from which we selected the final handful for inclusion in the show. There just isn't time to cover everything in one show and you're bound to disappoint some folks while pleasing others - as I'm sure you understand. We'll take your comments on board, though, and keep them in mind for when we next delve into Changeling territory :).

Thanks for the shout-out :) I'm honored to hear a little excerpt of my own life in your podcast :)
Again, I assure you that this white dressed ghost was probably a good one :D

I really don't know Changeling, and from my point of view, this podcast was quite interesting!

Thanks again!
Will there be anything left to show the world that we ever did exist?

I'd have to agree that more content is needed - but as we all pointed out in the episode, Changeling is s lot of different things to a lot of different people. I feel that we barely scratched the surface of all three games - but that is because of the quantity of quality concepts. To cover all three games, in-depth in forty-five minutes is simply not possible. I do empathise with you though, every time Mark runs a Mage segment, I usually finish listenign thinking 'that was it? But I wanted more'. I view this as a good thing, as it proves that the games that we love are deep, interesting and offer a range of places, people and concepts to explore. So, I'm keen to see more Changeling episodes from Mark and Vince.
When we were first discussing ideas to cover, I made an initial list that was a foolscap page long - which made me think that starting a pure Changleing podcast wasn't necessarily a bad idea... you certainly wouldn't lack for ideas.
Changeling the Lost is similar in my opinion and your list shows how much meat there is to discuss - you could record a series of episodes just on Lost, and probably still not cover everything.

Basically what I'm saying is that I felt that we gave a very broad overview, and acknowledge that there is far more to talk about - maybe if we lobby Vince and Mark we won't have to wait another 16 episodes for the next dose of Changeling... :D

SWEET!
I've been waiting for this show with baited breath.
I've been so impatient, that when I saw the Monte Cook interview go up instead, I was disapointed. Can you imagine? (Read: shameless love for Monte and his work)

I'll listen to the cast as soon as my shift ends. (Oh how I love to run a hotel is a snowstorm. Reminds me of a certain novel and movie... can't recall if it had a happy ending).
